What is HR 3598?

This bill would require military service for all men between the ages of 18 and 22 who do not meet a narrow set of criteria that would exempt them from the service. This is a military draft, not very different from the kind that sent thousands to Vietnam, often against their will.

Except as otherwise provided in this section, a person inducted as a conscript or accepted as a volunteer pursuant to this Act shall receive basic military training and education as a member of one of the armed forces for a period of not less than six months, but not more than one year, as established by the Secretary concerned.(taken directly from the bill, HR 3598, on, an online legislative webisite.)
